About Charlie Mas

Charlie Mas is a longtime schools activist. He ran for the Board eight years ago to raise the visibility of a number of issues and has remained active ever since. He is a frequent contributor to the Seattle Public Schools Community blog, a frequent speaker at Board meetings, and a frequent correspondent to Board members and District staff. He is respected as a knowledgeable advocate for students and families.

Charlie is a member of the School-Family Partnerships Advisory Committee and has been a member of the APP Advisory Committee, the Advanced Learning Steering Committee, and the Second Highly Capable Review Committee.

Charlie was active in the Spectrum Alliance, APP Task Force, and CEASE.

Charlie coached girls’ soccer for two years on Beacon Hill and Little League for two years in the Central District. Charlie was awarded a Golden Acorn by the Lowell PALS PTA in 2007.

Charlie is father of two students in Seattle Public Schools. He has lived in Southeast Seattle on Beacon Hill for seventeen years.
