There are a number of issues that will come before the next Board. Charlie has positions on them and he wants to know what you think, too.

The Board has a duty to oversee the implementation of the Strategic Plan. But the quarterly reviews on the Plan that staff has presented to the Board have not been comprehensive.

The Student Assignment Plan should provide equitable access to programs and services. But where is the effort to provide equitable access to CTE programs and academies? How will the District assure equitable quality?

The District has made a number of commitments to community engagement that have not been met. There is a Community Engagement Protocol for each project of the Strategic Plan, but none of them are following it.

Community Engagement

Adequate training and support are absolutely critical to the success of the inclusion of Special Education students. Without this training and support, the inclusion effort is doomed to fail.

Inclusion of Students with IEPs

The District has committed to aligning curricula; does that require standardized texts, pedagogy, and lessons?

Deadlines for the Strategic Plan have been missed. Commitments have been broken. Where is the accountability?
